Manor House

Life at Manor House is distinctively characterized by its rustic charm and country living on the Breede River. As you enter through its pebbled courtyard,  you’re greeted by a timeless bricked façade adorned with climbing vines. It has a mind of its own –  this is where slow mornings start with croissants and coffees while your crew plans the adventures of the day ahead. Lunch is a laid-back affair, the table spread with freshly baked bread, local cheese, and perhaps a bottle of wine.

Walk through the doors and you’re greeted by a plethora of spaces for mingling, mellowing, and making memories. Double-volume ceilings embrace the space, whilst vast windows bathe it with natural light, framing endless views of the Breede River and surrounding vistas. It’s here where you’ll unpack the board games beneath the chandelier over the dining table, light the fireplace, gather around the bar, or round up for a game of pool.

Five bedrooms span the property – some with XL queen beds, others with single – and each its own ensuite.

But when you’re not about the house and its myriads of spaces, the stack doors welcome you outdoors. Just steps away you’ll find the veranda perfect for morning coffees, afternoon reclining and evening starlit dinners. You’ll find yourself spending most of your stay here, either cocooned in the swinging chair or catching some sun. As the river beckons, it’s out onto the jetty for afternoons that turn into evenings with the excited calls of the children with their latest catches. For those feeling adventurous enough to brave the Breede, you can try your hand at skiing or SUP-ing. Later, as the sun dips low, it’s the perfect spot to watch the sky turn to hues of pink and gold, casting a glow over another perfect side river day.
