This house is one of the rarely available houses on the East bank of the Breede River. It offers unparalleled privacy and seclusion with access to large areas of private farmland for walking, cycling, bird watching and small game sighting. It has arguably one of the best sunsets on the River.
It is a family home with its surrounding 22,5 hectares of land, which was once used as a working farm for raising baby ostriches. It was also one of the standby landing areas for the SS Kadie, while waiting for tides on her passage up to Malgas due to the deep water off its banks.
The thatched roof provides natural insulation keeping the house cool during the hot summer days and warm in the cold winter nights.
With its large stoep and built-in braai, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the river, the Potberg and stunning sunsets while still keeping an eye on your fishing rods on the jetty.
You do not need a 4 x 4 vehicle to access the property however, it is not easily accessed by a low clearance vehicle as the access roads are across active farming lands. If you get visitors, they are either invited or lost and in need of a refreshment.
Spend your day fishing, boating, birdwatching, mountain biking or suntanning with a good book on the jetty or secluded private lawn then settle down in the evening to a braai and magnificent sunset.
While the house is pet friendly and these family members are welcome too, there are some rules around their and others safety which apply and pets are restricted to the Kadie’s Landing farm only.
About this space
A large holiday house built for 1-3 families sharing. There are 6 bedrooms, one of which is a designated kid’s bedroom. The downstairs main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and the bedrooms upstairs share a bath, shower and toilet. There is another double bed room downstairs with a private entrance leading outside.
There is ample space to do as you please. Sunbathing, swimming, boating, skiing, tubing, kayaking, fishing, walking, bird watching, mountain biking, trail biking, board games and braaing, all in a very private and secure location.
Guest access
Guests have access to the main house, slipway, jetty, Kadie’s Landing property and neighbouring farms. Guests do not have access to the garage, cellar or barns/boathouses.
Braai and fireplace facilities
There is a built-in braai on the stoep and a double-sided indoor fireplace facing the lounge and master bedroom for those cold winter nights.

There is an outdoor 12-seater dining table, an indoor 8-seater dining table and a 4-seater kitchen counter.
