This peaceful, Double Story Holiday Home is located in Witsand. A place that welcomes those childlike ways of barefoot, fancy-free frolicking on the lawn, under the trees, through the gardens, and 1.5 km from the beach. A place where the sentiment of happiness being best when shared, reigns true.
4 Gorgeous bedrooms – beautifully decorated with attention to detail were not spared, truly a home from home. A double story house with secure fencing that leans itself to safety and privacy. The look and feel of the property is cozy and family friendly with areas to choose from socializing indoors or outdoors. Functionally lay-out, ensures all can choose where they would like to spend their time.
Every day there’s something different and exciting to explore in the area. And that’s the fun of it. When you’re not about the house and its myriad spaces, it’s onto the water to paddle, cycling, water- tackle the fishing and simply let Witsand be your canvas. When it’s time to leave San Sebastian House, there’s a side of you that will not join you on the journey home. It’ll wait patiently by the sea.
Being the “Whale Nursery of South Africa”, Witsand offers fantastic whale watching opportunities! This area has the largest concentration of Southern Right whales to be found in a single bay – every year between July and November. Witsand boasts the first Whale Watching Tower on the Garden Route. Land based whale watching is also great with over a 100 whales in the bay in one day, sometimes as close as 100 metres from the shore!
The town has a wonderful and scenic beauty that enthrals all who spend any time here. Some of the sights and activities are as follows:
Water-skiing on the Breede River is allowed beyond the 5D-mark, where the Slang River flows into the Breede River, towards Malgas.
Other activities in Witsand include fishing along the Breede River as well as rock fishing along the beach.
The largest concentration of Southern Right whales found on the South African coast. We only offer land-based whale watching as no boat based whale watching license has been issued as the nursery is regarded as a sanctuary for the whales.
Sea- and river cruises up to the Bush Pub;
Fishing in the Breede River for the illusive 50kg kob, rock angling and fly-fishing;
Hiking trails – a choice of 6 trails ranging from easy to difficult;
